[apocalypse how OOC] help me cheat my way to catching up?
SO. As may or may not be evident, I have utterly fucking sucked ass at keeping up with the game over the last month plus; RL went nuts and, obviously, the longer I let things slide the more nerve-wracking it's been to try and get caught up.
Unfortunate, considering I had a lot of settling in and CR-establishing still to do at that point.
So, in the interest of trying to dive back in and cut down on the nerve-wrackingness, I hereby cheat. I'm trying to nail down exactly where Wake is at this point, about six weeks after arrival; off the top of my head, I'm working on:
what she's up to in terms of keeping occupied. I'm thinking possibly ADI Security. It has everything she loves: mindless violence, the opportunity to cooperate with Probably Not A Long-Term Ally just closely enough to start analyzing their weaknesses... Also, looking over this month's TDM: if anyone wants to learn how to shoot things, Wake is really good at shooting things and will absolutely either trade lessons for tips on unobtrusive day-to-day survival in 2020s Gloucester, or just sort of end up giving them regardless in a fit of "oh god you are so going to die if you leave the house like that."
where her head is at vis a vis the Entities. It's not great, I know that much. Nightmare event really did a number on her. I do still desperately want to go back and finish those threads, although tbqh it also did kind of a number on me.
who she'd reasonably be spending time with. This is where I'm kind of throwing the field open! People who've threaded with her already; people who haven't threaded with her yet but need another hot, traumatized bastard woman in their orbit; people who are going to freak her out just by existing (this definitely includes but is not limited to obviously nonhuman individuals, unrepentant magic users, and anyone with strong Extinction vibes)... let's talk about it. I'm open to either brainstorming assumed CR with which to go forward, or setting up a thread to explore the possibilities.
what stunningly overdetermined fake given name she came up with for her paperwork. Seriously. This question haunts me.
In conclusion: halp? I may have been a massive flake lately, but I'm still so excited about this game and I really desperately want to get my feet underneath me!

It would be cool to thread out a meeting but I'm also down for brainstorming enough details to handwave it. They could either have run into each other on ADI grounds the first time, or in Gloucester and then harpy woman as a fun surprise later.
Eda is also willing to offer tips on Gloucester survival in exchange for getting better at shooting... If you trust her tips on Gloucester (they are of wildly varying quality)

This definitely does all sound extremely brilliant! I'm torn between threading out a meeting and handwaving -- I'm trying to handwave as much as possible to get up to current, but also I feel like this would be an excitingly unpredictable dynamic to dig into. Possibly the answer is to brainstorm details for a first meeting and then thread out a second? (Could pull a setup from one of the TDM prompts, or whatever works for you.)

That would make sense! Pretty sure Wake's been spending quite a bit of her free time roaming around the city, so it would make sense for them to briefly cross paths pretty much anywhere.

Depending on the day she might come off as a relatively normal snarky middle aged woman or like she doesn't really know how to fit in here. (Referencing fantasy creatures like they're normal? Trying to pay for coffee with a live raccoon?)
Or you MIGHT just find her like, chasing a rat in an alley (although she's been trying not to feed the hunt here, so.)
She also takes security shifts around Dogtown, sometimes.
Just trying to brainstorm, depending on how normal you want their first interaction to be XD

Oh no worries! I have spent the last few days mostly napping due to the world's most underwhelming attack of covid, anyway (all good, it really is getting to be just the new cold).
... I feel like it has to be a bar. I really feel like it absolutely has to be a bar.

Lmao bar works! It's... equally likely Eda would offer to buy her a drink or start a fight, depending on both their mood

Also--rolled dice and got "they get in a bar fight" if you want to roll with that, lmao
